- "Although the USP.45 doesn't have as much punch as the other pistols, it keeps a strong suit in accuracy and low recoil. Clips have plenty of ammo to keep putting rounds downrange."
- ―In-game description
The USP.45 is unlocked by default. It has the lowest damage of any sidearm, which is quite problematic. Accuracy is superb however, the low recoil will easily balance successive shots and is purely visual. Every semi-automatic shot is only slightly higher in the kick when fired at its maximum cap.
The USP.45 has excellent handling traits and is quick to be switched to from primary weapons. Paired with Sling, this can make it very fast to defend against a close range attacker. Many attachments go well with the weapon. A Compensator is often a good choice as it extends its range dropoff even further and a Tactical Knife allows for a quick switch and knife kill expecially when sniping and ambushed up close.

The USP.45 is the player's starting weapon. It functions like the M1911, being fairly effective on early rounds and then losing its power very quickly. It has a very short ammo supply especially if Max Ammo is not obtained. Players frequently trade this weapon for more favorable ones. Its clip is downsized from multiplayer with 8 rounds and 80 reserve, although you will start out with 32 rounds initially.
Hold on to it long enough and it can be Pack-a-Punched into the Elite's Favorite where it will gain a damage and clip increase. The weapon now boasts incredible killing power even up to higher rounds and it has a surprisingly high penetration ability, almost to that of a sniper's. With a quick fire rate, it can punch straight through entire lines of zombies. This is a fairly useful upgraded weapon to use when downed, as it can kill enemy zombies usually with one shot while awaiting revival.
An interesting trait of the weapon is that if upgraded and then traded off for a separate weapon, the Elite's Favorite will be the weapon used when downed again, provided that the player does not have a handgun or accepted one into their arsenal after upgrading.
