The OSV-96 is a Russian high caliber sniper rifle featured in Warzone: Iron Wolf.

Warzone: Iron Wolf

The OSV-96 appears in all three gamemodes.

In Act of Valor, the OSV-96 appears as an enemy weapon. It is possible to obtain it as a starting weapon in Death's Veil if the player had completed Act of Valor with the weapon in his arsenal.

"The rapid re-centering speed allows the OSV-96 to blast multiple targets to pulp before having to reload. Recoil is more damp the lower you are, so locating a good sniping spot is advised."
―In-game description

The OSV-96 is the final sniper rifle unlocked at level 60. It is tied with the DSR-50 for the largest one shot kill zone, only the OSV is semi-automatic, able to eliminate several hostiles at once.

Recoil is extremely high, especially when not crouched or prone. However, the recentering speed is remarkable and can allow for follow-up shots if paced. Firing as fast as possible will cause the weapon's sight to jump upwards uncontrollably. The weapon requires a lot of stability, but when the kick is predicted, it can become one of the most powerful weapons in the game.

A strange and unique pairing to the OSV-96 is the Compensator and FMJ Rounds. When it is equipped, it will continue to be able to have a one-shot kill anywhere in the body except the waist area if shot through cover. This makes the weapon highly feared in gamemodes like Search and Destroy and Hardcore gametypes. The drawback is that the firing sound is easily recognizeable and loud, giving away the sniper's position.

The OSV-96 can be bought from the Mystery Box for 950 points. It is the most powerful of the sniper rifles on offer, dealing a one shot kill well past round 15. Like the cousins, it performs rather bad in close quarters unless there is a good place to funnel enemies where one bullet can drop entire rows. Ammo can be rather sparse and its quick trigger finger often requires reloads to be frequent. 5 rounds per magazine with a reserve of 35.

It is Pack-a-Punched into the OSV-115 Venator where it gains a magazine and damage boost. It also gains the Variable Zoom. It now has less kick and able to compete with most high damaging guns and even Wonder weapons. Magazine size is 8 rounds with a reserve of 56.
