Call of Duty: Civil War, is a game which takes place in the 1860s during the Civil War and shows the origins of the United States Black Operations.
Description[]
In this game the player can play as one of the Yankees or Dixes; each one having a completely different storyline. Using a variety of different weapons from that time period, fight the Dixies or Yankees for what you think is right! You follow the story of Thomas Ashlocke who previously fought in the Second Seminole War under the company at Fort Brooke at the age of 18. 19 years later at the age of 37 he leaves his family in the southern part of Maryland where he is enlisted into either the Union or the Confederacy.
Union Storyline[]
If you chose to play as the Yankees you will fight in the Battle of Fort Sumter, where with your near escape after the take-over, you are placed in a private company that only the president and other higher ranking officials know about. The task is to stealthfully and brutally enhance their playing fields and in turn win themselves the war. This is called Black Company.
Spoilers[]
Act 1[]
The Black Company sends John Smith Jr. to defend the railroads at Philippi. He fends off the attack but three hostiles escape from him and hide within the nearby forest. You are then sent to Richmond, Virginia to scout out a path to silently assassinate President Jefferson Davis of The Confederacy so that the Union can regain dominance. The assassination fails and leads to troops raiding the capitol which eventually leads to the death of Ulric Dahlgren. The operation was covered up and replaced with Fake News. The Union claimed their goal was to free the Slaves of Bell Isle. It was revealed that three escapists had warned President Jefferson Davis before hand. The three witnesses were William Miller, George Davis, and Henry Brown. The Black Company was then re-assigned to target the Dixie Elite that back up President Jefferson Davis in order to make up with their failure.
Act 2[]
The Black Company sends you along with three fellow soldiers to take out the Dixie Elite. The team re-arrives in the capitol of the Confederacy, Richmond, Virginia at the dead of night. The team is tasked to stealthfully assassinate the 5 members of the Dixie Elite without getting caught. Using the shadows as a disguise, the team makes their way through the city. The four of you take out two of the Dixie Elite so far without being caught. You are by yourself and about to assassinate the third member when a servant walks in the room and screams in shock. The third member, Felix Adams, wakes up and tackles you to the ground. Your knife gets knocked out of your hand and flies across the room. You both exchange blows in a relentless fist fight. You are getting beaten badly when one of your squadmates, John Abercrombie, enters the room through the window and stabs Adams in the back of the head. Luckily, Adams was the only one who woke up as the others were no struggle to assassinate. Now, with the Dixie Elite taken down, The Black Company is reconsidering the possibility of successfully assassinating President Jefferson Davis.
Act 3[]
Your team, now known as Union 4, is tasked to re-attempt the assassination of President Jefferson Davis. This time with no witness to warn the President, the team must move quickly as you have little time to act. The President will soon notice that the Dixie Elite are dead. Your team prepares its final scouting mission. Your team can decide to eliminate all the soldiers one by one or ignore them all together. Once the team makes it to the President's office, whether the soldiers were killed or not, the final act has begun. You all slowly enter the room, but to your surprise, the President was expecting your arrival. The two soldiers beside him quickly kill two of your squadmates and in quick fashion you and Abercrombie eliminate the soldiers. The President tries to make a run for it during all of the chaos, but he doesn't make it far. He stumbles out the door and you and Abercrombie capture him. The war is now officially yours. You can choose to imprison him or eliminate him. The moral of the Confederates lowers greatly which leads to the war's end.
Epilogue[]
After the successful assassination of Confederate President Jefferson Davis, the union troops swiftly conquer the South. Union President Abraham Lincoln abolishes slavery. The Confederate States of America cease to exist and the Civil War leads to a shift in society. This shift occurs throughout the world and changes it for the better. The Black Company and the rest of America congratulate you, Abercrombie and your two fallen squadmates on the success of this mission. Your name will be forever remembered and you continue to live your life as the war hero, Thomas Ashlocke.
Confederate Storyline[]
If you chose the Dixies then you will fight during the Battle of Philippi where the fort is swarmed and now forces you and your friends into enemy territory and drives you far out. With no leadership, no orders, and no clear way home, you and your friends William Cane, Charles Thompson, and Arthur Smith decide to attack under enemy lines and plan to hijack an armored train to deliver the resources and prisoners to the Dixies.
Spoilers[]
Act 1[]
On June 3, 1861, you (Thomas Ashlocke), William Cane, Charles Thompson, Arthur Smith, and Joseph Fletcher are resting in your tents chatting and telling stories from their lives. After a little while, you all go your separate ways and rest up for the next day. A few hours later, an artillery barrage wakes everybody up. A surprise attack from the Union sent everyone into a panic to grab their weapons for battle. During the fighting, Joseph Fletcher is killed and the player is injured leaving no choice but to retreat in the chaos. During the retreat of the player, William Cane, Charles Thompson, and Arthur Smith get separated from the rest of the Confederacy and find themselves behind enemy lines without any orders. They decide to stay behind enemy lines and sabotage the Union army for the Confederacy. They start their mission by sabotaging Union food supplies. They then go after a weapons depot where they find documents of a train that is carrying resources and prisoners, who of which, would be a great asset to the Confederacy.
Act 2[]
After much planning and consideration, the four of them form a plan to take over this train from the Union. They go on a stealth mission to take what they need including explosives, ammunition, and a gatling gun. They are finally ready to take this train for themselves. Using the cover of night, they set up explosives and the gatling gun. Hours later, the train passes by and they blow up the bridge behind the train. The player takes the train and the other three get the gatling gun set up on the train. Then they move the train to their destination, shooting any union officers on horseback with the gatling gun. Finally they meet back with the rest of the Confederacy with the train.
Act 3[]
The general finally decided to put an end to the war. He wants you and your team to kill the Union President Abraham Lincoln. You and your team kidnap and interrogate a Union general and learn that President Lincoln is watching a play at Ford's Theatre in Washington D.C. The team sneaks into the play at the capitol ready to kill Lincoln. One of your squadmates, Charles Thompson, reveals himself to be a Union spy and he attacks the squad killing William Cane and Arthur Smith. This leads to a fist fight between you and him, but in the fight they didn't notice John Wilkes Booth come up. Booth pulls out a gun and both of you hear a shot. You both watch as Booth kills the President. With that distraction, you stab Thompson and begin running with all of the police chasing you. Just before you can escape, you are shot in the leg and arrested by the Union.
